The University of Virginia Darden School of Business seeks a Program & Events Coordinator to join its team in Charlottesville, Virginia. This position has two primary functions, 1) To support the operational and administrative needs of the LaCross Institute for Ethical AI in Business and 2) To serve on the shared services team that provides communication, event and administrative support for the other centers of excellence at Darden (Batten Institute for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Technology; Institute for Business in Society; and the Mayo Center for Asset Management). This role reports to the Director of Shared Services with the Director of the LaCross AI Institute providing direction for the institute's portion of the position. This position will work closely with faculty, staff and students to facilitate the execution of programs, events and initiatives that are led by the Centers of Excellence and Darden faculty. The successful candidate will be outgoing, entrepreneurial, flexible and highly organized. This position requires superb communication skills and a high degree of professionalism, suitable for interacting with an array of constituents. The ideal candidate will possess administrative/general office support experience that can be demonstrated through a combination of work and extracurricular activities, ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities, strong interpersonal relationships and teamwork skills, and the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement. Physical Demands This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
