What you will accomplish as a Electronic Technician at TAPCO: Supports both production and engineering activities by troubleshooting and repairing electronic products and systems while also developing work instructions and validating manufacturing processes and product performance. Assists in ensuring products meet quality, reliability, and regulatory requirements through testing, documentation, and continuous improvement efforts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support electronic testing and test control equipment used in product validation and manufacturing environments.
- Coordinate electronic engineering activities on the production floor to support manufacturing operations and product quality objectives.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electronic products, assemblies, and systems.
- Coordinate the calibration of instruments, equipment, and control devices required for testing, measurement, data collection, and analysis.
- Determine test conditions, procedures, sequences, and operational phases necessary to validate product performance and reliability.
- Provide technical input regarding operational, functional, and performance requirements during product testing and validation activities.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and technical personnel to resolve product, process, and testing issues.
- Analyze and interpret test data and prepare technical reports for engineering and management review.
- Develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing work instructions, testing procedures, and process documentation.
- Utilize computer software and hardware tools to conduct testing, collect data, and evaluate electronic products and systems.
- Support production final test implementation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with product safety, regulatory, and FCC compliance testing activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, reliability, and manufacturing processes.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment while following company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong troubleshooting and repair skills for electronic products and systems.
- Understanding of electronic test equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, validation testing, and quality standards.
- Familiarity with product safety and FCC compliance testing requirements.
- Ability to collect, analyze, interpret, and present technical data.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Ability to develop and document workflows, procedures, and work instructions.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
Education and Experience
- Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field; or
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Six months to two years of related electronics testing, validation, manufacturing, or troubleshooting experience preferred.
Language Skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, engineering documentation, professional journals, and governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, work instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information to employees, managers, customers, and other stakeholders.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts including fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, geometry, trigonometry, and statistical analysis to practical situations.
- Ability to interpret and analyze test results and performance data.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret technical information in situations with varying levels of complexity.
- Ability to follow written, verbal, diagrammatic, and schedule-based instructions.
Computer Skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Experience using electronic testing software, data collection systems, and related engineering tools is preferred.

- No certifications required.
