Position Title: Environmental Health and Safety CoordinatorCompensation: $16.50 - 17.84Department: Risk Management & Insurance_AStart Date: 07/14/2026About this opportunity: This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual to join the Risk Management department as an Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator. In this role, you will support the daily operations within the Environmental Health and Safety office that supports the health and safety of the University by developing, implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving EHSprograms while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and promoting the health and safety of the University community and environment.Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the United States without employer sponsorship. What you'll do and what you'll bring: Position Function: Supports theBSUEnvironmental Health and Safety (EHS) team in developing, implementing, monitoring, and continuous improvement ofEHSprograms, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, and promoting the health and safety of the university community and environment. Duties & Responsibilities: 1. Plan, inspect, coordinate, and monitor campus remediation projects, ensuring compliance with university standards and maintaining accurate project records. 2. Assist in EHS activities, focusing on inspecting campus equipment, and projects to ensure safe operation and compliance with university standards. Performs inspections and testing of safety devices, facilities, machinery, equipment, and abatement practices across campus, including buildings, trade shops, classrooms, laboratories, and grounds. Follows standardized inspection procedures and uses appropriate equipment, devices, or protocols to ensure environmental health and worker occupant safety. Findings are summarized or otherwise presented to the appropriate EHS technical and professional staff for review and necessary action. 3. Ensure environmental health and safety monitoring equipment is accurately calibrated, properly maintained, and meets recognized industry standards. 4. Coordinate inspections, maintenance, and repairs for man-lifts, cranes, and other equipment requiring annual safety certification. 5. Delivers training on designated program areas or equipment operation, using content reviewed and approved by the supervisor to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with state and federal regulations. 6. Support virtual training programs, including LMS administration, course updates, tracking, and user support. 7. Initiate and track safety-related work orders to promptly address hazards and ensure corrective actions are completed. 8. Maintain electronic records of EHS activities, including audit and inspection reports, exposure assessments, incident reports, permits, SOPs, and certifications, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for compliance and reporting. 9. Prepare and compile EHS reports, including audit findings, inspection results, incident data, and compliance metrics to support program management and operational needs. 10. Apply working knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, EPA, and BSU procedures, following regulatory requirements and safety precautions. 11. Respond as needed to emergency calls or alarms, providing on-site safety support and coordination. 12. Work with the EHS team to plan and execute initiatives supporting departmental goals. 13. Maintain regular and predictable attendance. 14. Perform other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications:
