Job Description
The Nursing Academic Progression and Clinical Coordinator ( APCC) is a dual focus role. Clinical coordination responsibilities include arranging clinical experiences which meet the various learning needs of students. The coordinator collaborates with division leadership and course coordinators to determine appropriate placement experiences, and with clinical agencies to procure and maintain clinical placement sites. Academic progression responsibilities include managing all aspects of the Associate to Bachelor ( ATB) programs including the ATB website and university partnerships. The APCC must work closely with leadership from both HCC and our university partners to monitor progress in order to meet or exceed grant goals.

Duties include, but are not limited to, researching and recommending appropriate agencies for clinical assignments and practicum experiences; assist in orienting clinical faculty; maintain all student requirements for clinical facilities; working with current university partners to increase seamless academic progress for nursing students, including developing new ATB opportunities; working with partners to execute their respective portions of ATB curriculum; meeting with and advising ATB students and prospective students; maintaining web pages educate nursing students about academic progression opportunities at HCC.

This position is Cohen Scholar eligible.

This is a full-time exempt position.

Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States, as the College does not offer Visa sponsorship for this position.
Required Education
A master's degree in nursing is required. The master's degree must be conferred by July 2026.
Required Experience

  • Applicant must have a minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Applicant must have a minimum of one year of experience in nursing education, including but not limited to student support and progression, clinical coordination, academic partnerships, program management, or other activities that support student success and program outcomes.


Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Other requirements include:

  • ability to maintain tools and systems for collecting and reporting baseline data;
  • proficiency in a Windows-based computer environment;
  • strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills;
  • ability to collaborate with program leadership to hire and supervise clinical faculty.

Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to applicants who have:

  • completed a master's degree in nursing education
  • experience in nursing academia, including advising and monitoring student academic progression
  • experience coordinating clinical experiences, including procuring placement sites.

  • budget a management experience

Hours per Week 40 - 100%
General Weekly Work Schedule
9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday-Friday with evening and weekend availability for special events
