The Quality & Safety Informatics Specialist provides analytical support for quality and safety initiatives, including developing dashboards, scorecards, and reports for UCDH senior leadership. This role manages outcomes reporting by tracking, analyzing, and communicating performance across multiple programs and projects.
Working collaboratively with clinical informatics specialists and project managers, the incumbent supports organizational goals and drives data-informed decision-making.
The position requires strong judgment, analytical expertise, and the ability to prioritize and work independently under general direction. A solid understanding of healthcare delivery systems and effective collaboration with Clinical Care Services leadership are essential for success.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- Epic Clarity/Caboodle Data Models. Obtain within 6 months if not certified
- Prior experience within a healthcare organization, with demonstrated proficiency in programming, statistical analysis, and data reporting using analytical tools.
- Proficient in business intelligence and data visualization platforms such as Tableau or Power BI. Experience Tableau developer or use of other BI tools
- Experience working with enterprise data systems, including Epic Clarity or Caboodle (certification required or obtained within 6 months of hire).
- Expert or senior level experience in database application development and administration.
- Demonstrated experience using various programs to create/modify databases, integrating multiple large datasets, create custom reports, filters, linkage, forms and ability to export data in various formats.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
- Previous experience within a complex, academic, matrix-driven organizationProject management experience
- Epic experience, preferably Clarity/Caboodle data models
- Proven experience with programming, statistical analysis, and reporting using analytical softwarePrevious, documented experience Interpreting complex federal regulations and guidelines

Department Overview
The Quality & Safety Department has responsibilities for UCDH systemwide patient safety and quality excellence, performance improvement, patient experience, outcomes management and reporting. Through close interaction with UCDH departments, units, and providers; these functions promote excellence in patient care, patient safety, patient experience and utilization of clinical resources.
The Quality Initiatives and Reporting team serves to lead and guide program development, project management, and data analytics needs of the department as a strong, service-oriented and consultative team, focused on delivering high-quality analytics and program support.
