What to Expect
We are seeking a Test Equipment Engineering Technician to join our R&D Bay Area Cell Characterization Labs, based in Palo Alto. Our labs are responsible for testing and qualifying next-generation Li-ion cells. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with electrical and/or mechanical systems, strong troubleshooting skills, and a proactive approach to maintaining a broad range of equipment while supporting general lab operations.

What You'll Do
  • Perform routine maintenance, repair, installation, and calibration of lab equipment
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance
  • Collaborate with internal infrastructure groups and external vendors to support lab needs and equipment maintenance
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts and consumables to ensure availability for critical operations
  • Document maintenance, calibration, and equipment activities in accordance with laboratory standards
  • Support daily lab operations including equipment setup, workspace organization, and fluid refills for test chambers
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of lab workflows while supporting both Palo Alto and Fremont locations

What You'll Bring
  • 2+ years of experience in equipment maintenance within R&D, manufacturing, or laboratory environments
  • Hands-on experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment such as multimeters, temperature chambers, chillers, and power tools
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems and instrumentation
  • Proficiency in reading and following equipment manuals, schematics, and SOPs
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently with a high degree of accuracy
  • Proficient in Windows and MS Office applications and able to lift 40 lbs. and commute between Palo Alto and Fremont as needed

    Expected Compensation
    $24.40 - $56.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
