JOB TITLE: Unit Manager - Manufacturing - (1st Shift Mfg Departments) Responsible for providing leadership and oversight to assigned team, ensuring productivity and quality goals are achieved while minimizing scrap. Establishes Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other metrics while developing assigned supervisors and leaders in the group, and analyzes data to determine root cause and troubleshoot performance issues. Demonstrates leadership with assigned employees, and builds professional relationships at all levels to drive collaboration and influence company success. Partners with divisional and company senior leadership to provide feedback and support on policy, strategy, metrics, staffing, and other key business areas. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Convey goals and expectations clearly to assigned team. Proactively provide coaching to ensure employees meet minimum daily, weekly, and monthly production, quality, and safety goals.
- Oversee planning for machines, equipment, and product flow through the facility based on customer priorities and available resources
- Oversee assigned production team, including shift staffing, scheduling, task assignment, attendance and performance management, training and professional development
- Drive the safety culture of assigned team, ensuring it is an active consideration in all tasks, and that machinery and equipment is maintained to create safe working conditions. Report safety concerns immediately to safety team members, and ensure team members at all levels report potential hazards
- Establish and review key metrics to assess the team's performance, identifying areas for improvement and taking action to positively influence results. Mentor rising leaders in developing relevant metrics to enable exception management and spearhead continuous improvement, while ensuring their continuous development as effective people leaders
- Foster a collaborative environment to ensure employees share clear and timely communication on the flow of product, priority jobs for customers, and status updates as needed, maintaining flexibility to meet the business and customer needs
- Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, develop solutions collaboratively with key stakeholders, and drive implementation within assigned area
- Write and conduct formal performance review sessions with every assigned employee in partnership with Human Resources Department
- Support company programs, strategy rollout, and improvement initiatives as a member of the leadership team

- Knowledge of bearings and bearing products produced by NHBB, grinding, and processes preferred
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Production Management, Engineering Technology or related discipline (equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered)
- Master's degree a plus
- Minimum of 10 years' leadership experience in a manufacturing organization
- Past experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system required
Physical Requirements:
- May include prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organizations' facilities
- Ability to travel as needed (<5%)
