The candidate will also mentor junior staff or trainees and coordinate with partner labs to facilitate efficient workflow and high-quality data output.

This role is intended for a seasoned laboratory professional with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, troubleshoot complex lab issues, and help guide the strategic direction of lab operations.

Responsibilities:

30% Sample Management: Independently manage all aspects of sample transfer, receipt, shipping, aliquoting, and storage across a range of biological materials (e.g., plasma, serum, cell pellets). Ensure sample integrity and proper chain of custody for multi-site studies.

30% Cytokine and Genomics Analysis: Conduct and assist in the interpretation of cytokine and spatial genomics data. Collaborate with external cores and partners on sample preparation and downstream analysis, including methylation and spatial transcriptomics.

10% PCR: Perform a range of PCR-based assays as needed, including hepatitis B and D PCR, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize protocols independently.

20% Lab Leadership & Maintenance: Take ownership of day-to-day lab operations. Maintain accurate experimental records in lab notebooks, monitor supply levels, enforce safety protocols, and ensure lab compliance. Lead onboarding and training of new lab members.

10% REDCap and Figure Development: Oversee and support REDCap data management and assist in developing publication-quality figures for presentations and manuscripts. Other duties as assigned.
