What You'll Do

Position Overview

The University Advancement Division seeks a Student Giving and Engagement Officer to join the Tufts Annual Giving Team (TAG). TAG is responsible for the strategy, design, and implementation of a comprehensive annual fundraising program, with a focus on leadership annual fund giving, class-based reunion fundraising, volunteer-driven philanthropy, and fostering a strong culture of giving across the university.

As a key member of the TAG team, the Student Giving and Engagement Officer leads the Tufts Student Alumni Collective (TSAC), Tufts' student-facing philanthropy and engagement program. This role is responsible for building a culture of giving among Tufts students, running signature fundraising campaigns, cultivating campus partnerships, and preparing students to become engaged alumni donors and volunteers.

The Officer oversees all aspects of TSAC, including student giving campaigns, on-campus engagement events, donor stewardship, social media and brand management, and the recruitment and management of student employees. This role also leads senior class engagement programming, recruits and manages a 1st Reunion volunteer committee, builds partnerships across campus departments, and collaborates with the broader TAG team on annual giving priorities.

This position is ideal for a highly organized, relationship-driven individual who thrives managing multiple high-stakes projects simultaneously and brings genuine enthusiasm for student engagement and giving.


What We're Looking For

Basic Requirements:
Knowledge and experience are typically acquired by:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 0-2+ years of relevant experience in fundraising, student engagement, event planning, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to connect with diverse audiences.
  • Interest in and ability to leverage Excel and other technology to organize, prioritize, track, and manage a large constituency base at a personal level.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for developing innovative engagement strategies.
  • Experience managing social media and creating content across formats (reels, static posts, stories); familiarity with design tools such as Canva is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software applications, including Word and Excel. Familiarity with database management and reporting tools is a plus
  • Position requires significant time invested on-campus, occasional evening and weekend hours for events and programs

Pay Range

Minimum $54,500.00, Midpoint $68,100.00, Maximum $81,700.00

Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
