The Vice President, Compensation provides enterprise-wide leadership and end-to-end accountability for Alcon's global compensation strategy, with primary ownership for executive compensation, Compensation Committee governance, and related disclosures, alongside broad-based compensation. Specifics Include:
Lead the global compensation teams in the design, implementation, communication, support and administration of innovative compensation programs that effectively drive the attraction, retention and development of the organizations' human assets. Put in place the necessary leaders, resources, and tools to manage, review and evaluate compensation across different levels and locations across the company. Oversee the company's global reward programs on an on-going basis relative to market positioning, internal equity, regulatory compliance, pay and corporate governance, and compensation philosophy and strategy. Develop and refine global compensation policies, processes, and practices that are industry competitive, taking into account changing business requirements and employee expectations, and enable management to focus on and reward individual and group performance. Anticipate, research, and provide relevant accurate information regarding compensation programs to ensure a sound basis for business decisions and analysis and evaluate the financial impact of rewards on the business. Ensure programs are implemented efficiently by the delivery organizations and reach the goals and ambitions of the business leaders of organizations. Integrate designs together with colleagues in other Centers of Expertise (Talent Acquisition, HR Operations, Learning and Development, etc.), with the purpose of creating an overall employee value proposition aiming at maximum return on investment for the company. Provide expertise, counsel and advice regarding the strategic design, implementation, communication, disclosure and administration of the company's executive compensation programs including fixed compensation, annual bonus and long-term incentive plan structures, stock award plans, executive benefit programs, governance and disclosure. Counsel senior management in all compensation, benefits, compliance, global mobility or international transfers, and performance management strategies and offerings as appropriate. Act as the lead for the managing, directing and coordinating executive compensation consultants and ensure key performance indicators are set and evaluated an ongoing basis. Play a key role in negotiating compensation terms and agreements for new executives recruited to the company, and termination agreements for executive leaving the company. Effectively represent the company and develop professional relationship with key external stakeholders, including compensation consulting partners, proxy advisors, shareholders, etc. Is primarily responsible for leading a global team to develop and manage compensation strategies, policies, and programs that align with the company's mission to help people see brilliantly. Ensure Alcon's compensation programs adhere to all applicable regulatory provisions. Collaborate with internal partners, including Legal, Tax, Accounting, Finance, and Payroll, to ensure compliance with global regulatory bodies and internal Alcon policies and guidelines. Provide guidance on global executive compensation programs to HR partners
