Your responsibilities

Salary range based on experience: 130k-150k/annual, 15% bonus potential, car allowance

The Global Key Account Manager serves as an engaged and trusted source in the organization. Success in this role is measured by the achievement of balanced scorecard metrics including Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity and Cost. Key deliverables to ensure success are listed below:

  • Own the overall global customer relationship for the GM account and manage additional assigned regional customer accounts, serving as the primary commercial point of contact for operational and strategic matters, defining the customer interface strategy and building strong relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Develop and deploy comprehensive customer strategies to improve tkPDC's profitability and growth, based on customer product strategies, market trends and competitive intelligence, and translate them into product, sales and OPL/budget forecasts.
  • Lead customer price and contract negotiations and the commercial implementation of agreements, including change notices, productivity and material agreements, end-of-production and program cancellations, to maximize revenue and profitability.
  • Independently lead the commercial acquisition phase of customer projects in collaboration with the relevant functional departments, including contract reviews, pre-nomination activities and program awards covering piece price, tooling and ED&T.
  • Lead and coordinate cost-reduction initiatives with relevant functional areas.
  • Identify technology trends and develop new business opportunities within GM and other assigned customer accounts that align with tkPDC's product and R&D strategy, supporting them through commercial and technical customer presentations.
  • Support internal departments in resolving customer-related commercial and operational issues, including logistics, operations and accounts receivable.
  • Conduct regular customer and tkPDC facility visits.
  • Identify and develop new markets and potential customers as directed.
  • Ensure internal and external processes comply with applicable IATF 16949 requirements.
  • Complies with all applicable safety and environmental policies.

Customer Commercial Activities

  • Manage customer RFQs, commercial offers and relevant quote and contract documentation in accordance with SUD-00339 Authority Definition.
  • Participate in key customer program activities, including SOP, run-at-rate and accounts-receivable topics, in coordination with the responsible internal functions.
  • Support the commercial resolution of customer quality issues and customer satisfaction activities.
  • Communicate customer requirements, expectations and developments to the appropriate internal stakeholders.
  • Utilize relevant customer portals and monitor customer scorecards across the supplying tkPDC organizations, coordinating necessary corrective actions.
  • Maintain sufficient technical knowledge of the assigned products to effectively represent tkPDC with the customer.
  • Participate in customer and industry events to develop business opportunities and relationships with executive and mid-level customer contacts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, a successful candidate will be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field, or an equivalent technical and commercial background; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years of sales experience in the automotive industry or similar, with demonstrated experience managing global or multi-regional customer accounts.
  • Understanding of material economics and application to customer programs preferred.
  • Understanding of Valvetrain / powertrain functionality and operation, Tier I or II preferred.
  • Experience with metallic components and their manufacturing techniques.
  • Experience within a multi-cultural, global organization is essential.
  • Technically competent (able to rapidly gain a thorough knowledge of camshafts and rotorshafts) and to have demonstrated a thorough understanding of the automotive sales performance.
  • Experience with General Motors (GM) preferred but not required.
  • Communicative, self-directed working style.
  • Business-fluent English; additional foreign languages an advantage.
  • Technology: Ability to interact with and understand SAP or equivalent ERP system as well as other financial reporting software.
  • Travel: Regular travel, up to 30% including international
