Position Description

Position Purpose:


The Revenue Cycle Performance Strategist is responsible for optimizing, configuring, and supporting Epic and other EHR revenue cycle modules to drive measurable financial performance through the strategic use of operational excellence methodologies, workflow redesign, analytics, and performance improvement initiatives.


This role bridges operations, technology, analytics and client leadership to ensure EHR capabilities are fully leveraged to improve financial outcomes, operational efficiency, workforce effectiveness, and the patient financial experience.


The Revenue Cycle Performance Strategist evaluates end-to-end revenue cycle performance, identifies opportunities for transformation, designs operational solutions, and guides organizations through adoption of best practices and technology-enabled change.

This position reports to Jalpa Patel



Essential Job Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Operational Performance Enablement



  • Partner with Revenue Cycle Operations to:


    • Assess current-state revenue cycle operations
    • Identify operational improvement opportunities
    • Perform utilization analysis of current EHR functionality
    • Recommend industry best practices for EHR functionality
    • Conduct workflow optimization and future state redesign to address operational challenges
    • Project manage optimization and improvement initiatives and monitor implementation success
    • Maintain EHR-based productivity and QA tracking frameworks using: User activity logs, work queue volumes and throughput metrics, touches per account and completion rates


  • Lead enterprise work queue strategy across managed service clients:


    • Optimize routing logic and prioritization rules
    • Align work queues to roles, skillsets, and productivity standards
    • Eliminate duplicate work and unnecessary touches


  • Maintains deep understanding of Epic functionality and maintains all certifications and new release updates
  • Performs account level reviews and audits to ensure optimal system performance
  • Participates in assessments to identify opportunities for client improvement


Cross-Functional Collaboration



  • Serve as a key liaison between:


    • Revenue Cycle Operations
    • Product and Technology teams
    • Advisory Services
    • Client stakeholders and Community Connect partners



  • Support above teams by providing strategic guidance and subject matter expertise on Epic capabilities and constraints


Client Engagement



  • Build trusted relationship with client stakeholders to present optimization opportunities
  • Translate complex issues and areas of improvement into actionable and clear business decisions
  • Develop business cases for recommended enhancement opportunities


Data, Reporting & Continuous Improvement



  • Leverage EHR reporting tools to:


    • Monitor KPIs and operational performance
    • Identify system-driven improvement opportunities



System Support:



  • Serve as the lead for Epic issues identified and new change requests
  • Manages logging tickets, keeping up with status of tickets, ensuring timely response and turnaround of tickets, and escalating tickets as necessary


User Education:



  • Responsible for assisting the education department in the development of training materials, curriculum and tip sheets related to Epic
  • Performs direct observations in operational areas to ensure Epic best practice workflows are being adopted and adhered to and makes note of any areas of educational opportunity
  • Supports revenue cycle leadership in any Epic certification processes and serves as a subject matter expert in Epic system functionality
  • Strives to educate revenue cycle leadership in practical Epic system knowledge to build expertise in operations



Required Knowledge & Experience:



  • Working knowledge with other revenue cycle focused Epic applications
  • Working understanding of interface and interface messages
  • 4 year/ Bachelors Degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • Must have Epic Administrator Certification in Revenue Cycle focused modules (Resolute HB and PB)
  • 3--7+ years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle operations and Epic Application
  • Strong understanding and proficiency of end-to-end revenue cycle workflows: Patient Access, Coding, Billing, A/R Follow-Up, Cash Posting
  • Travel should be available to travel up to 20%

General Areas of Accountability:


Must conduct business and personal affairs in a manner that is always a credit to the company. Must maintain a good credit rating while employed with the company.

  • Follow HIPAA guidelines for protecting the privacy and security of sensitive personal and/or health information.
  • Follow Signature expected acceptable use to protect propriety and company owned information.
  • Complete annually required Privacy and Security Training



PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT:


All Signature Performance associates are subject to regular performance management to determine if skills and training requirements are suitable for the position.



Machines and Equipment:


The incumbent must be able to effectively operate the current computer system, telephone system, and other office machines such as copiers and fax machines.



SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:



  • U.S. Citizenship or naturalized citizenship is required for this position.
  • All work on all positions at Signature Performance must be completed in the continental United States, Alaska, or Hawaii.



Physical Activity:


The incumbent must be able to finger, grasp, feel, see, sit, hear, and speak. This position is sedentary in nature with minimal lifting requirements.



WORKING CONDITIONS:


The incumbent works in an office environment that is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions such as heat, cold, or extreme noise. Routine periods of being on the phone utilizing a headset, sitting and data keying are required.



Remote Eligibility: This position is full-time remote eligible. Eligibility is determined by Management or Talent Operations.
