MRIGlobal's Commercial Business Development team provides full-service business development to identify, qualify, capture and deliver new projects. We are seeking a Business Development Manager to help grow our commercial pharmaceutical development portfolio. This is a customer-facing role for a candidate who enjoys building relationships, identifying new opportunities, and translating customer needs into solutions that lead to funded work.



Reporting to a Senior Commercial Business Development professional, this role is ideal for a proactive business development professional with experience in commercial pharmaceutical markets, an established customer network, and the ability to work effectively across technical, operational, marketing, and proposal teams. This position requires an individual with a talent for building and maintaining customer relationships, who thrives in advanced technical environments, and can broker and win new business across a variety of client organizations.



Role and Responsibilities



  • Build and maintain a qualified pipeline of commercial opportunities within the pharmaceutical market.
  • Develop and grow relationships with customers, partners, and key stakeholders to support new business capture and long-term account growth.
  • Help shape and execute account plans, market strategies, and opportunity pursuits aligned with MRIGlobal's commercial growth priorities.
  • Lead or support opportunity development activities from qualification through proposal submission and award, working closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Monitor and share market trends, customer priorities, competitor activity, and partnership developments to inform strategy and positioning.
  • Collaborate with technical, operations, contracts, finance, marketing, and proposal teams to develop customer-focused solutions and compelling submissions.
  • Contribute to proposals, capability statements, marketing brochures, and customer presentations.
  • Represent MRIGlobal at conferences, partnering events, and customer meetings to strengthen visibility and generate new opportunities.



Qualifications




  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, life sciences, or a related field
  • 5+ years of business development experience in the pharmaceuticals industry.
  • Demonstrated success identifying, developing, and winning new business in commercial markets.
  • Strong understanding of life sciences market dynamics, customer priorities, procurement processes, budgets, and partner ecosystems.
  • Ability to analyze market drivers, customer requirements, and competitive landscapes to inform account strategy and pursuit decisions.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and collaboration skills, with experience working across internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.


Pay Range $97,700 - $111,000



The salary range is intended as a general guideline and is not a guaranteed offer, as compensation depends on various factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate qualifications, experience, internal equity, and market conditions.
