The Opportunity RCG is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support a federal client in Honolulu, Hawaii. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure that supports mission-critical operations across geographically dispersed locations. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to network performance, security, and reliability. What You'll Do
- Plan, procure, design, develop, configure, and commission federal networks and associated systems for network monitoring and incident management.
- Analyze, evaluate, and monitor network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues to improve reliability and operational efficiency.
- Document network architecture, configurations, policies, standards, and compliance requirements.
- Assess system performance and recommend upgrades, enhancements, preventive maintenance, and infrastructure improvements.
- Plan and communicate technical initiatives and project deliverables.
- Evaluate and document business cases for network modernization and improvement efforts.
- Prioritize work activities to align with organizational objectives and mission requirements.
- Prepare executive-level reports and summaries that translate technical information into actionable business insights.
- Develop, implement, and monitor enterprise information security strategies to protect critical systems and data.
- Ensure systems comply with applicable security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with system administrators and stakeholders to identify, assess, and mitigate security risks.
- Evaluate security vulnerabilities and coordinate remediation and patch management activities.
- Support disaster recovery planning, business continuity initiatives, and recovery procedures for mission-critical services.
What We're Looking For Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Network Engineer.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification.
- Experience planning, designing, developing, configuring, and implementing enterprise or federal network environments.
- Experience supporting network monitoring and incident management systems.
- Experience with federal network documentation and policy compliance requirements.
- Strong expertise in network performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Experience evaluating system performance and recommending infrastructure improvements.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience preparing reports and presentations for senior leadership.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize competing requirements and support mission-critical operational needs.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Federal Government environments.
- Experience with enterprise information security programs and compliance initiatives.
Work Environment
- This position is 100% on-site in Honolulu, Hawaii.
- Occasional travel to client field offices is required.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
