The Opportunity:

As a Food and Beverage Specialist III, you will oversee the Rosen College Campus Cafe - an industry-focused, student-centered working lab and internship program - where you'll mentor the next generation of hospitality professionals while keeping daily cafe operations running at their best. Working alongside a dedicated team of faculty, chefs, and staff, you'll bring your food and beverage expertise to a one-of-a-kind academic setting where every day makes a difference. Responsibilities:

• Supervise, schedule, and assign duties to student interns to ensure appropriate coverage and efficient workflow.

• Train students on proper procedures and food handling standards.

• Assist the Director and Chefs in overseeing campus cafe operations and coordinating daily activities.

• Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures to support efficiency and quality.

• Ensure recipe accuracy, food safety compliance, adequate product levels, and proper FIFO practices.

• Assist with product pickup and delivery using a college vehicle.

• Support Chefs in food and non-food inventory management and procurement, including use of the University Expense Card, vendor coordination, and culinary inventory systems.

• Utilize the point-of-sale system for daily operations, monitor closeout reports, audit sales, and assist the finance team with revenue and sales tax reporting.

• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a higher education or academic learning environment.

• Working knowledge of cafe or food service operations.

• Experience supervising, mentoring, or training student workers or interns.

• Knowledge of food safety standards and food handling protocols (e.g., ServSafe certification).

• Proficiency with point-of-sale or cafe management systems.

• Familiarity with scheduling and workflow coordination in a food service setting.

• Experience working collaboratively with culinary professionals or chefs.

Special Instructions to the Applicants:

The anticipated hourly pay range for this position is $17.64 - $19.63. The final pay rate will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.

Position requires a valid Class E driver's license. This position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
