This position is responsible for development, planning and implementation of sales initiatives aimed at increasing business for the assigned territories and segment(s). The incumbent is accountable for all assigned/prospective customers in that territory and serves the global coordinator for key accounts headquartered in the region.

This position is remote/residence-based role in the central and/or eastern region of the US.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Increase core volume and margins for assigned customers in the U.S. and Canada by developing and implementingstrategies and sales plans
  • Lead strategy for global customers headquartered in the U.S. or Canada and manage collaboration with global colleagues to address interregional relationships and complexities.
  • Meet customers' needs by understanding their application and industry, Covestro's technologies for their business, and strong sales and marketing insight.
  • Develop a robust pipeline of potential customers and decision makers to ensure ongoing businessgrowth.
  • Manage prospective customers (Leads) as the designated Lead Catcher for the NA region, screening sample and technology requests, and disseminating them when appropriate.
  • Contribute to commercial excellence initiatives with accurate sales forecasts, value-based pricing and consistent use of sales tools and systems.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business, or Marketing with4+ years' technical or commercial experience in the field/relevant industry; OR Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business, or Marketing with 2 years' technical or commercial experience in the field/relevant industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Production & application processing knowledge
  • Familiarity with engineered thermoplastics industry and technology

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Development of relationships with customers and distributors at all levels.
  • Advanced understanding of sales techniques and knowledge of assigned products, markets and customer base.
  • Good organizational and planning skills as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Good analytical and business process skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, contract negotiation, pricing implementation.
  • Possess initiative, drive, discipline and can work under pressure. Team player. Moderate to advanced problem-solving skills
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
