****ONE YEAR CONTRACT, 3 DAYS IN OFFICE PER WEEK****
*Professional Summary* The Specialist, Short Insurance is responsible for managing complex short insurance cases while balancing the needs of both the credit union and its members. This role serves as a key liaison between internal teams and external partners, including insurance carriers, GAP providers, and dealerships. The Specialist handles a high volume of inbound and outbound communication, conducts detailed loan and claims analysis, and ensures timely resolution of insurance-related matters. Success in this role requires strong analytical capabilities, customer service expertise, and the ability to navigate multiple systems in a fast-paced environment. *Key Responsibilities* * Handle inbound and outbound calls (10-30 daily) and email correspondence to assist members with insurance-related inquiries and documentation needs * Facilitate GAP claims, service contract cancellations, and resolution of escalated member inquiries * Evaluate and audit complex loan files related to total losses, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures * Process and verify loan obligations, including settlements, refunds, payoffs, and reconciliation of financial transactions * Conduct research and support special projects aligned with departmental initiatives and process improvements * Partner with insurance companies, GAP providers, and dealerships to gather documentation and resolve claims efficiently * Track and follow up on settlement checks, lien releases, and required documentation to ensure timely completion * Maximize claim recoveries and refunds while supporting accurate loan resolution outcomes * Lead resolution of deficiency balances or credit balances on loans, ensuring proper closure * Identify gaps in processes and recommend improvements, contributing to operational efficiency * Mentor and support Servicing Associates by providing guidance on processes, claims handling, and customer interactions *Qualifications* * Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service or administrative support, preferably within financial services * Call center experience with a mix of inbound and outbound communication * Strong customer service skills with the ability to manage sensitive and complex member interactions * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously * Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail * Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment * Effective written and verbal communication skills across diverse audiences * Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with professionalism * Working knowledge of loan contracts, including APR, interest calculations, and default provisions preferred * Familiarity with financial regulations (FCRA, SCRA, FDCPA) preferred * Knowledge of bankruptcy, loan modifications, and GAAP/TDR guidelines is a plus * Experience with core banking systems preferred * Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience preferred but not required *Job Type & Location* This is a Contract position based out of Hillsboro, OR. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $23.50 - $25.00/hr.
