Occupational Therapist

This OT position will work in a variety of areas of Regions Hospital acute care units, based on volume and/or area of highest need. This includes all areas of our Level 1 Trauma hospital (ED/boarding, observation units, medical and neuro ICUs, med surg, neuro and trauma units as well as inpatient rehab). Preferred candidates would have a minimum of 1 year experience in relevant setting, with evaluation and treatment knowledge in the areas of stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, and complex medical/trauma. We work collaboratively as a treatment team so strong problem-solving skills, ability to work in a fast pace/complex setting, and strong verbal and written communication skills are needed.

Annual education money is provided to all FTE staff along with a Medbridge subscription to support creation of home education programs for patients and to provide a portal for high-quality continuing education topics. We also intermittently offer department or org-level educational offerings to help foster continuous learning and care improvement.

We offer two weeks of onboarding into the role with additional specialty training (e.g., ICU) based on experience/need. We have a collaborative OT team that offers ongoing informal mentoring and support. We have approximately 17 OTs working each day at Regions (M-F).

This is .8 FTE/4 days a week position. Location may change daily based on the need/volumes. Days of the week are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. There is an every 4th weekend requirement with this position as well as a holiday rotation shared in the OT department.

Rehab OTs work 7:00am-3:30pm

Acute OTs work 7:30-4:00pm

This position may have a mix of these start/end times

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy

  • Licensed in MN as an Occupational Therapist

  • Registration with the Minnesota State Department of Health as an Occupational Therapist

  • Current certification with the National Board of Certification for Occupational Therapy within 6 months

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in similar settings/diagnosis.

  • Advanced certification and/or licensure to support position.
