Responsibilities
The following duties are typical of the position but are not all encompassing. Responsibilities include those required to deliver quality service on schedule and within budget in a team environment.
Performs calculation of ductwork static pressure calculations, and pump head calculations.
- Provide engineering and 3D Revit support for multiple projects that include piping, plumbing and fire protection (domestic cold and hot water systems, sanitary and vent systems, natural gas systems, compressed air systems, fire protection systems including but not limited to sprinkler systems, clean agent systems).
- Receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and assistance in deriving possible solutions to unusual problems.
- Reviews work with supervisors to ensure the application of sound engineering practices and professional judgment.
- Will work with other Engineers, Project Managers, Clients, and other stakeholders on specific assigned objectives, complex features, and aid in deriving possible solutions to unusual problems.
- Coordinates with the project engineer for engineering guidance as required.
- Coordinate needs and develop an understanding with other engineering disciplines (Civil, Architectural, Structural, Electrical, etc.) for design package needs.
- Serves as a job captain on single discipline projects.
- May devise new approaches and solutions to problems encountered and communicate them to the team.
- Performs field verifications / site walks to identify, verify, resolve, and incorporate solutions into design packages. May troubleshoot engineering problems in the field during construction.
- Reviews project construction submittals for conformance with the contract documents.
- May represent the firm in meetings and conferences to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate a project.
- Travel required.
- Valid driver's license required. May be waived for international assignments.

Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering, which qualifies for licensure in the state of practice, is required.
- PE or PE-tracked preferred. Above with eight (8) or more years of related practical experience with former employer(s) required.
- Demonstrable experience in the mechanical systems listed (piping, plumbing, fire systems).
- Experience with compressed air and medical gas piping.
- Proficiency in REVIT required.
- Experience working with AutoCAD is required. Experience with Navisworks, PIPE-FLO or similar hydraulic modeling software is a plus.
- Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) preferred.
- Working knowledge of International Building Codes, ASHRAE Standards, ASPE Standards, and NFPA Standards.
- Experience in Commercial, Education, Aviation, and Healthcare industries, mainly.
