Job Summary

Within the department of Tech Dining, the Assistant Director of Operations is responsible for managing day-to-day operations of specific dining concepts. Responsibilities include directing a staff of managers, supervisors and staff to ensure that day-to-day objectives are consistently met and standards are maintained to ensure the best campus dining program possible. This position will interact on a regular basis with all levels of faculty, staff, students, and vendors associated with Tech Dining. This position will primarily advise and counsel other staff members and vendors. This position will supervise: assigned staff.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Plans and manages the day-to-day operations of a specific dining venue(s) or concept(s), and hires, trains and manages operational personnel and supervises all specified dining activities to include managing staff schedules, attendance accountability, and ensure completion of administrative actions (including annual evaluations, compliance training, and other requirements).

Job Duty 2 -
Works with departmental leadership to implement budget requirements to ensure fiscal controls (including cost of goods sold, labor targets and controllable expenses).

Job DUty 3 -
Works closely with the culinary team to ensure menus and food standards are implemented accordingly; ensures labeling requirements are met and compliance with allergen containment procedures; ensures adherence to national brand standards.

Job Duty 4 -
Guarantees compliance with sanitation and safety requirements that ensures a safe and sanitary work environment.

Job Duty 6 -
Manages and ensures proper implementation of departmental policies and procedures.

Job Duty 7 -
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Duty 7 -
Manage dining special events for a specific location centered towards student engagement and interaction.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Associates Degree, Technical Diploma or two years college course work.

Other Required Qualifications
Current ServSafe Food Protection Manager or able to obtain within 90 days.

Required Experience
Three to five years of food service experience, including supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience
Supervisory experience in higher education

Proposed Salary

Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000 Annually

SKILLS
Management skills. Planning skills. Ability to build collaborative relationships. Excellent customer service and employee relations skills needed. Ability to work a very flexible schedule. Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
