About the Job

This position supports administrative, creative, and research-related activities connected to Artist Mindset Week and the community-engaged research initiatives within HUM 3401: Contemplation of Mental Health Using Creativity and Qualitative Analysis. The research assistant will work closely with the faculty supervisor, research team, community partners, and guest artists to support the coordination, documentation, and analysis of arts-based educational and well-being initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend weekly meetings with the faculty supervisor and research team
  • Assist with qualitative research activities, including data collection, organization, entry, coding, and analysis
  • Support the preparation of conference presentations, manuscripts, and publication materials
  • Assist with program coordination tasks, including ordering and organizing art supplies, tracking invoices and payments for guest artists, and maintaining project records
  • Attend selected Zoom meetings with community partners and guest artists to take notes and help coordinate schedules and workshop logistics
  • Contribute to maintaining clear communication and organization across research and program activities
  • Support documentation of Artist Mindset Week activities through field notes, photographs, and reflective observations as needed
Qualifications

Required

  • BA/BS degree with at least 1 years of previous experience
  • Demonstrates above average leadership skills and willingness to assume a leadership role in group settings
  • Strong Writing Skills
  • Strong Interpersonal skills
  • Experience in conference preparation
  • Qualitative research experience
  • Previous experience in art based educational wellbeing initiatives

Preferred

  • Ability to follow complex instructions
  • Ability to quickly learn new tasks and material
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team member
About the Department

The Center for Learning Innovation (CLI) serves as both the academic home for the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences (BSHS) and an innovative "laboratory for learning" at the University of Minnesota Rochester. Grounded in data-driven educational research, the CLI is dedicated to developing, implementing, and continually improving an integrated, concept-driven curriculum that prepares the next generation of health care professionals.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $17.00 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
