About the Job

Position Summary:
A Research Coordinator in the department of OBGYN will work directly with the providers and patients seen in our clinics and hospital units. This individual is responsible for a portfolio of studies and the clinical aspects related to it.

Responsibilities:

  • 80%: Patient Recruitment: Scrub clinic schedules, touch base with provider to determine eligibility, perform the informed consent process, schedule all study related activities, data collection, query management, specimen collection and shipment.
  • 10%: Study start up/close out: work closely with the project manager for job related activity to conduct research studies in the clinics and units.
  • 10%: Department Admin/Meetings: meet with the clinical research team and director to discuss improvement to processes, portfolio management, coverage needs and special projects.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree or a combination of related education and work experience to equal four years.
  • Ability to work on-site, required to be in the office Monday through Friday, with flexibility in schedule as needed based on the OR schedule.
  • Willingness to travel to community clinics around the metro area; must have reliable transportation.
  • Comfort working in an OR setting and inpatient units.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain responsibility for multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive references from previous employers.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn complex processes or procedures and a desire to learn and grow in a scientific field.
  • Team player with experience successfully working with others to achieve common goals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a healthcare or clinical setting.
  • Interest in Women's Health.
About the Department

OBGYN Research Administration: Clinicians in our Department are actively involved in multiple clinical trials testing the most promising, cutting edge therapies currently under investigation. In addition to conducting clinical trials, our faculty are actively pursuing basic research programs aimed at improving all aspects of women's health. These research efforts cover a broad range of topics from understanding the genetic basis of ovarian cancer to improving fertility using the most advanced techniques to increasing access to health care for underserved communities.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $50,000 - $55,000/year; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 100% Appointment

Position Type: Civil-Service & Non-Faculty Labor Represented Staff
