Engineer (NVH / Crash / Durability)

Location: Raymond, OH

Pay: $51.25 - $58.00/hr.

We are seeking a Senior Structural CAE Engineer to support advanced vehicle development through simulation-driven engineering. This role focuses on reducing physical testing through high-fidelity CAE analysis, model development, and validation across NVH, crash, strength, and durability domains.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform full-vehicle structural CAE simulations supporting NVH, crash, strength, and durability performance
  • Develop, document, and validate new CAE methods to improve modeling accuracy and correlation to physical testing
  • Build and maintain high-quality pre/post-processing models for full vehicle simulation studies
  • Analyze and interpret simulation results to identify design risks, structural issues, and performance gaps
  • Correlate CAE predictions with test data and drive continuous model improvement
  • Support cross-functional engineering teams as a simulation subject matter expert and internal consultant
  • Investigate complex engineering problems and provide independent technical judgment and solutions
  • Own root cause analysis of simulation discrepancies and drive corrective actions
  • Support replacement or reduction of physical testing through digital engineering methods

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
  • 10+ years of CAE/structural simulation experience in automotive or aerospace environments
  • Strong expertise in at least one domain: NVH, crash, strength, or durability
  • Advanced experience with CAE pre/post tools (ANSA, META, HyperWorks, ModSim, HyperView)
  • Experience with solvers such as LS-DYNA, Abaqus (Standard/Explicit), Nastran, OptiStruct, or Actran
  • Strong understanding of structural mechanics and simulation principles
  • Proven ability to correlate simulation results with physical test data
  • Strong independent problem-solving and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (may substitute for up to 2 years of experience)
  • Experience across multiple domains (NVH, crash, durability)
  • Strong history of developing new CAE methods or improving simulation workflows
  • Experience working in OEM or Tier 1 automotive development environments

Key Competencies

  • Independent engineering judgment and problem ownership
  • Strong validation and correlation mindset
  • Ability to challenge assumptions and drive technical improvements
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
