Buyer - Automotive R&D

Location: Raymond, OH

We are seeking an experienced Purchasing / Procurement Specialist to support automotive R&D and prototype purchasing operations in a fast-paced engineering environment. This role is responsible for managing purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers, supporting prototype part sourcing, and collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, design, and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include managing open purchase orders, tracking supplier deliverables, reviewing CAD drawings and prototype part information, supporting sourcing activities, and ensuring timely communication between suppliers and internal teams. The ideal candidate will thrive in a changing environment, maintain strong attention to detail, and effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

This position requires strong SAP experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work closely with technical teams and suppliers within an automotive manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field preferred
• 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, contracts, or supply chain experience
• Automotive or prototype parts purchasing experience required
• SAP experience required; Ariba/SAP Business Network experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and technical part information
• Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced R&D environment
• Prior Honda or automotive industry experience is a plus

• Travel and overtime may be required
• Must be comfortable working in a dynamic engineering and manufacturing environment
