Position Overview

Join us in our fast-paced support to the Space Development Agency (SDA). Recognized as the Department of Defense's constructive disruptor for space acquisition, SDA delivers space-based capabilities to the joint warfighter to support terrestrial missions through development, fielding, and operation of the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture. SDA capitalizes on a unique business model that values speed and lowers costs by harnessing commercial development to achieve a proliferated architecture and enhance resilience. We are seeking a Senior Space Capability Warfighter Integration Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support SDA's mission. Responsibilities include:



Responsibilities

Requirements & Design

    Translate operational user requirements into technical system specifications
  • Support Concept of Operations (CONOPs) development for satellite capabilities
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure user needs are addressed and considered in design decisions
  • Facilitate requirements generation and validation with warfighter communities

Warfighter & Executive Engagement

  • Serve as liaison between development teams and operational user communities
  • Support executive engagements and product development conveying capabilities and achievements
  • Coordinate with Combatant Commands and operational units on capability integration

Program Transition

  • Support transition planning from development to operational deployment
  • Facilitate handover activities to operational commands
  • Document lessons learned and user feedback for future program improvements
  • Support initial operations and early operational capability phases


Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 5 years in Space Support to Operations or Space Operations
  • Clearance: Active TS/SCI required:qinetiqclearedjob
  • Experience with satellite system architectures and space-based capabilities
  • Proven ability to translate between technical and operational communities
  • Education: Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Systems Engineering, STEM preferred)
  • Strong systems thinking and ability to understand complex technical architectures


Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: Master's degree in Engineering or related field
  • Experience in Joint operations centers or command and control environments
  • 10+ years active duty military or adjacent experience
  • Knowledge of Military Staff, Combatant Command operations and planning processes
  • Experience with LEO satellite constellations or proliferated architectures
