Reporting to the Chief Academic Officer, the Dean of Medical Imaging will provide strategic leadership, operational oversight, and academic direction for all imaging programs, including radiologic technology and future modality expansions. This role is responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of imaging programs, with a strong emphasis on accreditation, regulatory compliance, and university alignment. The Dean of Medical Imaging will play a critical role in building and scaling the institution's imaging vertical, ensuring programs are responsive to industry demand and aligned with institutional growth priorities. This position collaborates closely with academic and operational leadership to support program quality, enrollment growth, and student success. REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have an earned doctorate or equivalent experience is required.
- Must have a minimum of five years leadership experience in imaging education within higher education, providing oversight for multiple programs at multiple sites. This professional experience will include:
- Imaging program oversight.
- Compliance with JRCERT programmatic accreditation standards.
- Monitoring, reporting upon and supporting compliant licensure/certification pass rates.
- Identification and implementation of third-party solutions that support licensure/certification readiness.
- Development and implementation of imaging-specific academic policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Program Leadership & Development
- Provide leadership for the design, launch, and ongoing management of radiologic technology and related imaging programs.
- Develop and execute a strategic vision for expanding the imaging program portfolio, including additional modalities.
- Ensure alignment of program offerings with workforce needs, clinical partner demand, and institutional priorities.
- Collaborate with academic and campus leadership to support program growth, quality, and student outcomes.
Imaging Operational Policy and Procedures
- Collaboratively develop, review, and update policies and procedures governing areas relevant to medical imaging education.
- Collaboratively develop and manage budgets related to the instructional delivery of medical imaging education.
- Collaborate with the VP of Academic Operations to propose and advocate for allocation of resources, including faculty positions, facilities, equipment, and technology, in alignment with academic and strategic priorities.
- Represent radiologic technology and other imaging programs in meetings with Regional Vice Presidents, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Academic Officer.
- Serve as escalation point for student complaint and grievance review and escalation process.
Accreditation & Regulatory Compliance
- Lead all accreditation efforts for imaging programs, including initial accreditation and ongoing compliance.
- Ensure programs meet accreditation standards through adherence to policies related to curriculum, faculty qualifications, and student outcomes assessment.
- Develop policies, processes, and documentation to support successful accreditation outcomes.
- Serve as the primary liaison with accrediting bodies and regulatory agencies.
- Contribute to evaluation and resolution of regulatory, legal, and ethical matters related to the delivery of imaging education when escalated.
- Support efforts to prepare for and maintain accreditation of imaging programs, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and requirements.
- Report upon program/campus programmatic accreditation status and JRCERT approvals.
Faculty & Academic Leadership
- Partner with campus leadership to support recruitment, onboarding, and development of qualified faculty and program Chairs.
- Provide guidance on faculty qualifications, performance standards, and professional development.
- Support consistency in curriculum delivery and academic quality across locations.
- Collaborate in faculty evaluation processes in alignment with institutional standards.
- Support faculty in staying updated with the latest educational methodologies, technologies, and content areas relevant to the imaging curriculum.
- Ensure faculty have the necessary resources, including time and materials, to effectively develop and revise the curriculum.
- Promote policies that foster diversity, equity, and inclusion among faculty and staff.
Clinical Partnerships & Workforce Alignment
- Support the identification, development, and maintenance of clinical partnerships required for program delivery.
- Assist in clinical site acquisition to ensure sufficient placement opportunities for students.
- Build relationships with healthcare organizations and industry stakeholders to strengthen program relevance and outcomes.
- Monitor clinical capacity and alignment with enrollment growth.
- Review feedback from clinical partners to ensure that the curriculum prepares students for the realities of clinical practice and meets the needs of the healthcare community.
- Work with curriculum advisory committees, including industry experts, alumni, and community representatives, to gather insights and recommendations for curriculum development.
Operational & Strategic Leadership
- Contribute to strategic planning and execution related to imaging program growth and sustainability.
- Partner with leadership on enrollment planning, resource allocation, and program performance metrics.
- Monitor program outcomes, including retention, licensure, and employment, and implement improvements as needed.
- Support cross-functional collaboration with admissions, compliance, and academic operations teams.
30% travel required as needed Compensation is determined based on the qualifications, experience, and circumstances of each hire. It is uncommon for new employees to start near the top of the salary range. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including a tuition waiver and reimbursement program, health insurance, paid time off, and a retirement savings plan. The salary range for this position is $148,750 to $201,250. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position most of the time.
- If based remotely, travel will include trips to the home office in Wisconsin.
- Must be able to occasionally move around the work location.
- Ability to move about readily and rapidly, if necessary, around the office, classrooms, clinical settings, etc., to access and interact with faculty, staff, partners, and students.
- Constantly operates office and/or tech equipment which may include computers, copiers, fax machines, audio/visuals.
- Frequently uses voice and hearing to communicate with students, staff or colleagues face-to-face or over the telephone.
- Visually or otherwise identify, observe and assess.
- Occasionally move, carry, or lift 10 pounds.
