Responsibilities
TheElectronics Technician is responsible for routine and non-routineoperations, maintenance, and repairs ofsecurity systems, fire alarm systems, PA systems, and sprinkler control systems ina large commercialcomplexwith laboratories. Theywill report to theServiceManager (SM)or Lead witha potentialfor back shift rotation or duty hoursand on-call status.This position is covered by the CBA for Industrial, Technical and Professional Employees Union, OPEIU Local 4873.
- Perform routine and non-routine maintenance, testing,programming,and repair ofthe Intrusion Detection and other Security and PA systemssuch as CCTV, intercoms, interface withan ePACSAccess Systems, and duress stations.
- Proficientwithmeters and testing equipmentappropriateforthis work.
- Able to read and understand complex schematics andcontrolssystemsdrawings.
- Conduct detailed inspections and thorough testing of fire alarmand suppressionsystems per NFPArequirements,identifyingand resolving complex issues.
- Utilize advanced troubleshooting techniques to diagnose and repair intricate problems in fire alarm systems, including VESDA systems and interconnected components such as elevators, HVAC shutdown, fire doors, and smoke control.
- Maintainaccuratedocumentation of service activities, including diagnostics, repairs, and system upgrades, completing testing reportsin a timely manner.
- Provide technical support to junior technicians, collaborating with team members to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Respond promptly to service calls, emergencies, and system failures, restoring system functionality while upholding safety protocols and company policies.
- Assistin the installation, maintenance, and upgrade of various fire alarm systems, including Notifier, Siemens, Edwards, Gamewell, Honeywell,Firelite, etc.
- Perform complete site surveys for potential preventive maintenance inspections and fire alarm system changes/modifications, preparing labor estimates and material requirements.
- Stay updated on industry advancements, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance andoptimizesystem performance, while pursuing andmaintainingindustry certifications.
- Knowledge anduse of Electrical Safety Precautions and Arc Flash requirements.

Qualifications
- HS diploma or GED with minimum 4+ years of experience working with security systems, fire alarm systems, PA systems, and sprinkler control systems in commercial facilities.
- State of North Carolina Security Alarm License, highly preferred.
- NICETIIcertification, highly preferred.

Abilities:
- The position requires the ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to [50 pounds] on a regular basis. Candidates must demonstrate physical strength and stamina to perform various tasks, including but not limited to, loading, and unloading, operating equipment, and assisting in the transportation of various materials. Proper lifting techniques and safety protocols must be followed to ensure personal and team safety.
- Relocates a 12 foot stepladder without assistance.
- Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.
- Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
- Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
- May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
- Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
