POSITION SUMMARY:

Hourly Rate: $17.00

The Fuel Island Technician is responsible for supporting daily fuelisland operations by performing light mechanical repairs, inspecting equipment, fueling trailer refrigeration units and other equipment, maintain fuel records and identifying maintenance needs. This role serves as a key communication link between the shop and plant/distribution operations.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBLITIES AND TASKS:

Fuel Island Support & Light Repairs

  • Perform light mechanical repairs on equipment, as found during the inspection
  • Perform daily environmental and safety inspections on fuel island and fueling equipment
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure all units are safe, functional, and compliant with company and DOT standards.
  • Identify defects, safety hazards, or equipment failures and take immediate corrective action.

Work Order & Repair Coordination

  • Log in to TMT daily and create work orders for fueling equipment and vehicles

Communication & Documentation

  • Document findings, performed repairs, and outstanding issues with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Maintain logs, inspection forms, and other required documentation in accordance with company policy.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment and vehicle fueling performed while utilizing mobile fuel truck

Operational Support

  • Assist drivers and equipment operators with fuelisland related issues.
  • Ensure the fuel island is clean, organized, and operating safely at all times.
  • Report all Driver safety concerns, or equipment malfunctions immediately.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to complete clear written communication, including repair notes and ECT updates.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift 50pounds.
  • Must be able to frequently climb over, and under.
  • Must be able to walk and stand on concrete for 9 to 12 hours per day.
  • Must be able to walk an average of 2 - 4 miles per day, occasionally up to 5 or 6.
  • Must be able to occasionally work in situations two feet above the floor in a leaned-over or squatted position.
  • Able to work outdoors in extreme all-weather conditions.
