Position Title: Radiology Registered Nurse (RN) Department: Radiology Reports To: Interventional Radiology Manager Position Overview: The Radiology Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality patient care before, during, and after radiological procedures. This role involves assessing patient needs, monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and ensuring patient safety throughout the imaging process. Key Responsibilities: 1. Patient Assessment: 2. Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' medical history and current health status. 3. Evaluate patients' emotional and physical needs prior to procedures. 4. Preparation for Procedures: 5. Prepare patients for various imaging procedures (e.g., X-rays, CT scans, MRIs). 6. Educate patients and families about the procedures and any necessary preparations. 7. Monitoring and Care: 8. Monitor patients' vital signs and reactions during procedures. 9. Administer medications and contrast agents as prescribed. 10. Collaboration: 11. Work closely with radiologists, technicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. 12. Communicate effectively with patients and families to address concerns and provide support. 13. Post-Procedure Care: 14. Provide post-procedure care, including monitoring for complications. 15. Ensure patients are stable and ready for discharge, providing follow-up instructions as necessary. 16. Documentation: 17. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting assessments, interventions, and patient responses. 18. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards. 19. Continuous Improvement: 20. Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with advancements in radiology nursing. 21. Contribute to departmental quality improvement initiatives. Skills: - Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. - Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems. Physical Requirements: - Ability to lift and move patients as needed. - Prolonged standing and walking may be required.

Qualifications: -- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (ADN or BSN). - Licensure: Registration and current RN Licensure by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in good standing is required. - Experience: Previous experience in radiology or a related field preferred. - Certifications: BLS and ACLS certification required; certification in radiology nursing (e.g., CRN) is a plus. - Experience: Previous experience in radiology or a related field preferred. - Certifications: BLS and ACLS certification required; certification in radiology nursing (e.g., CRN) is a plus.
