Communications Specialist II (Contract)

Location: Charlotte, NC (On-site)

Duration: 3-Year Contract


Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Communications Specialist II to support executive communications, leadership engagement initiatives, and enterprise-wide events. This role partners closely with senior communications leaders to help develop messaging, coordinate leadership meetings, and support the successful execution of large-scale corporate events.

The ideal candidate combines strong writing and organizational skills with experience supporting executive communications, corporate events, and cross-functional stakeholder engagement. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to strategic communications initiatives while helping drive operational excellence across the organization.

Writing samples demonstrating executive-level communications capabilities are required for consideration.


Key Responsibilities


  • Develop and support leadership meeting and event materials, including agendas, presentations, briefing documents, talking points, and logistics communications.



  • Assist with coordination and execution of executive leadership meetings and enterprise-wide events.



  • Track project timelines, deliverables, and dependencies to ensure stakeholders are prepared and informed.



  • Ensure strategic priorities and key messages are accurately reflected and consistently communicated across materials and events.



  • Support alignment across communications teams by maintaining awareness of upcoming initiatives and messaging priorities.



  • Coordinate with internal partners, including event services, technology teams, security, and other stakeholders, to support meeting and event execution.



  • Maintain planning tools, content repositories, and project documentation.



  • Assist with budget tracking, invoice processing, and expense reconciliation.



  • Conduct research and compile background information to support communications strategy and messaging development.



  • Support evaluation, testing, and implementation of AI-enabled tools and process improvement initiatives.



  • Provide on-site and virtual event support as needed.



Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.



  • 3-5 years of experience in communications, event coordination, project management, corporate operations, or a related discipline.



  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with experience creating executive-level communications.



  • Experience supporting meetings, leadership forums, or large-scale corporate events.



  • Strong organizational, project management, and time-management skills.



  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.



  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.



  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and collaboration tools.



Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience supporting executive leadership communications.



  • Familiarity with content management, planning, or project-tracking platforms.



  • Exposure to AI tools, automation initiatives, or process improvement programs.



  • Experience with budgeting, invoice management, or administrative support functions.
