Compensation Business Consultant

Location: Los Angeles, CA or Irvine, CA

Duration: 7-month contract

Schedule: Hybrid - Monday-Thursday onsite, Friday remote

Pay Rate: $82.76 per hour


Overview

We are seeking an experienced Compensation Business Consultant to support a dynamic HR and Total Rewards organization. This role serves as a strategic compensation partner, providing consultation and analytical expertise on complex compensation matters across the business. The ideal candidate brings strong compensation knowledge, advanced analytical capabilities, and experience partnering with senior leaders in fast-paced environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic compensation consultation to business leaders and HR partners on a broad range of compensation matters
  • Support and help lead cyclical compensation activities including market studies, annual compensation reviews, bonus administration, and job evaluations
  • Conduct job analysis, market pricing, and compensation benchmarking to support competitive pay practices
  • Develop compensation recommendations related to base salary, incentive programs, and total rewards strategies
  • Perform advanced compensation analysis and modeling using tools such as Excel, Tableau, and Power BI
  • Support compensation-related projects including process improvement initiatives and systems implementation efforts
  • Partner with cross-functional teams on organizational changes, compensation impacts, and business transformation initiatives
  • Assist with Workday compensation processes, reporting, testing, and implementation support for new business or international locations
  • Create and deliver presentations, educational materials, and communications related to compensation programs and initiatives
  • Provide guidance on compensation design principles, practices, and compliance considerations
  • Participate in additional projects and strategic initiatives as needed

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in compensation consulting, total rewards, HR, or related functions
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Expertise in compensation analysis, market benchmarking, and pay structure development
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Experience presenting complex findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders
  • Knowledge of compensation program administration and design principles
  • Experience with Workday Advanced Compensation preferred, including:

    • Comprehensive Compensation Management
    • Plan Design
    • Compensation Process
    • Event Management
    • Insights and advanced reporting

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
