The Clinic Manager is responsible for ensuring effective operations and executing organization strategic priorities at their assigned clinic location through successful team leadership, supporting daily needs of providers and staff, and contributing to continuous process improvement. This role reports to the Director of Operations and is a valuable member of the Operations Leadership team. This position collaborates closely with colleagues across the organization to deliver safe and exceptional patient experiences.

A successful candidate will bring a breadth of knowledge and formative experiences in clinic/ambulatory operations, people leadership, change management, customer service centricity, workflow process improvement, and ensuring healthcare safety and quality standards are achieved. Core strengths should include abilities as a coach and mentor, culture improvement, self-accountability, clear communication, organizational skills, and collaborative interdepartmental leadership.

Key Accountabilities:


  • Perform leadership accountabilities to strengthen team performance and lead the clinic team toward meeting customer service and financial objectives.
  • Serve as a host leader, supporting both general neurology and service line teams to meet daily operational needs in partnership with leader colleagues.
  • Participate in process improvement and strategic initiative execution to achieve organization and site-based goals.
  • Coordinate and oversee staff responsibilities for providers.
  • Hire, train, supervise and manage performance of assigned staff.
  • Lead troubleshooting and resolution of issues that impact providers, staff, and patients. Respond to patient complaints and address service concerns proactively.
  • Maintain competency in frontline operational job responsibilities to effectively train incoming team members, lead operational workflow changes, and directly substitute for staff when needed. This includes functions like check-in and scheduling.
  • Manage day-to-day operations including supply ordering, building facility needs, and other routine processes.

Education and Experience:


  • High school graduate or equivalent; bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a medical office or ambulatory setting
  • 3+ years of experience supervising medical office staff, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
  • Experience working with patient electronic health record, EPIC experience strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Collaborative management style with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Patient centered; strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines and troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Ability to work independently, exhibit mature judgment and make sound decisions.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with ICD-10/CPT coding desired.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with the utmost judgment and discretion, including compliance with HIPAA requirements.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
