Compensation: Hourly: $43.61/hour + H&W Benefits

Location: On-Site

Schedule: Full Time Mon-Fri days

Job Description:

Anakim Consulting Inc. has an opening for a Field Network Technician to work on-site supporting a wide range of maintenance, repair, and updates for campus telecommunications and conference equipment. This position requires a professional demeanor and related experience supporting a high-level customer environment.

Responsibilities include (but may not be limited to):



  • Provide campus-wide network and technology support
  • Installing, cabling, supporting, and maintaining IT equipment
  • Support audio-visual conference room equipment for both legacy and new installation
  • Evaluating and recommending necessary product maintenance activities and upgrades
  • Performing technical analyses of conference room software, hardware and transmission equipment using various diagnostic tools in support of efficient operations
  • Monitoring data traffic and controls network resource performance to ensure high-quality transmission
  • Demonstrating a high level of customer service, professionalism, and end-user support to a large VIP customer
  • Performing preventative maintenance inspections and ongoing patching of conference room equipment
  • Supporting root cause analysis activities of conference room incidents
  • Identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving technical problems related to network failure/integrity and usage of PC hardware and software including conference room displays, controllers, Crestron devices, AMX, Cisco, and other conferencing devices
  • Utilizing existing knowledge while building additional knowledge of the company, client, and processes
  • Resolving work orders for Network, VOIP, and conference room equipment
  • Resolving incidents according to service level agreements for IT and AV equipment
  • Analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures
  • Completing work with a moderate level of guidance and direction
  • Solving standard problems by analyzing possible solutions using experience, judgement, and precedents
  • Working within guidelines and policies
  • Constructing components, subunits, or simple models or adapting standard equipment to troubleshoot and correct malfunctions
  • Following specific layout and scientific diagrams to construct and package simple devices and subunits of equipment
  • Conducting various tests or experiments which may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement, selecting, preparing, and operating standard test equipment and recording test data
  • Extracting and compiling a variety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, etc., processing data, identifying errors or inconsistencies, selecting methods of data presentation
  • Assisting in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials that are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts
  • Developing information concerning operational failures and modifications and using judgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data and seeking sources to clarify information



Position Requirements

Basic Qualifications:



  • U.S. citizenship (no dual citizenship)
  • Ability to obtain security access (Public Trust level)
  • Valid U.S. state driver's license to operate government vehicles including 12-foot box trucks
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Experience with 70 volt indoor/outdoor Public Address (aka PA) systems
  • Related experience supporting a wide range of technical field support and network activities AND 8+ years of related experience with a bachelor's degree OR 10+ years of experience with an AA/AS degree; equivalent military experience or related training may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Detail oriented
  • Experience managing workload to meet project schedules

  • Demonstrated communication skills to interact at all levels including up to leadership team members
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
