The medical oncologist is responsible for providing comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and management of patients with cancer and related hematologic conditions. Provider develops and implements individualized treatment plans utilizing systemic therapies, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and hormonal therapy. The provider ensures continuity of care by coordinating with multidisciplinary team members, monitoring treatment response, managing adverse effects, and maintaining accurate and timely documentation in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory standards. Additional responsibilities include participation in quality improvement initiatives, adherence to evidence-based clinical guidelines, and contribution to program development to support the delivery of high-quality oncology services.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Assumes responsibility for the initial evaluation and treatment of patients with cancer and related hematologic conditions. * Performs initial history and physical examination and documents appropriately in EPIC. * Develops and implements individualized treatment plans utilizing chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and hormonal therapy. * Monitors treatment response, adjusts therapy as clinically indicated and manages treatment-related toxicities. * Discusses physical and/or emotional findings of patient, which may interfere with care of the patient with provider colleagues and appropriate support staff.

Evaluates patient progress on a continuing basis and alters treatment modalities as needed.

* Evaluates medical, social and educational needs of assigned patients.

* Initiates referral to appropriate ancillary departments and community resources based on patient need and documents on the

progress note.

* Coordinates patient care with multidisciplinary team members, including surgeons, radiation oncologists, nurse navigators,

advanced practice providers and supportive care services.

* Maintains accurate, timely and compliant documentation in EPIC in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.

Performs activities to meet patient/family educational needs.

* Adheres to evidence-based clinical guidelines and organizational protocols to support high-quality, safe patient care.

* Enlists Cancer Research team to enroll patients on clinical trials.

* Participates in quality improvement initiatives, performance metrics, and program development activities.

* Collaborates with administrative and clinical leadership to support service line growth and operational efficiency.

* Maintains required licensures, certifications and continuing medical education to remain current with advances in

oncology practice.

Pay Range

$1,000.00 - $675,000.00

Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
