We are seeking an experienced New York Workers' Compensation Claims Supervisor to lead a high-performing claims team, deliver exceptional outcomes for injured workers, and ensure compliance with New York Workers' Compensation regulations. Hybrid Flexibility - Enjoy a balanced schedule: 60% in-office / 40% remote Competitive Compensation - $135K-$160K salary plus $2,500 signing bonus What You will Do As the Workers' Compensation Claims Supervisor, you will oversee daily claims operations, supervise a team of approximately twenty workers' compensation claims professionals and support staff, and ensure compliance with New York Workers' Compensation Board requirements and EDI standards. Key Responsibilities Supervise and mentor claims adjusters and support staff Review claim activity to ensure compliance with corporate standards, NY Workers' Compensation Board regulations, and applicable laws Evaluate and adjust workers' compensation claims using best practices and sound judgment Establish and oversee claim reserves Negotiate and direct settlements in accordance with company standards and state regulations Ensure timely compliance with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) requirements and WC Board directives Assist staff with referrals and oversight of external vendors, including legal counsel, IMEs, surveillance, and nurse case management providers Conduct internal audits and oversee reporting requirements Approve employee time and leave requests Participate in employee coaching, development, and annual performance evaluations Support operational improvements and contribute to a culture of accountability and service excellence What You Bring You are an experienced workers' compensation professional who combines technical expertise with strong leadership and communication skills. Qualifications Required Strong knowledge of New York Workers' Compensation Law Experience supervising workers' compensation claims staff, adjusters, and administrative staff Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Documentation verifying minimum educational requirements Successful completion of a 90-day evaluation period Preferred Skills & Traits Leadership & Collaboration Build strong working relationships across diverse teams Coach, mentor, and develop employees effectively Promote accountability and professionalism Communication Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to tailor communication style to different audiences Able to communicate difficult or sensitive information professionally and comfortably Customer Focus Provides exceptional service with empathy and professionalism. Qualifications & Requirements: Education: Claims designations and New York Adjusters License preferred. Experience: Ten years of New York Workers' Compensation experience, including at least three years of prior supervisory experience with strong mentorship qualities. Location: Hybrid remote position based in Long Island City, NY. The selected candidate will be in our office at least three days per week.
