We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the following position:

Position: Vocational/Recreational Coordinator



The Vocational/Recreational Coordinator is responsible for the overall management of recreation programs and for developing and implementing vocational services to formerly homeless adults in residence.



Commonwealth Veterans Residence is a single room occupancy (SRO) residence that provides permanent, supportive housing to formerly homeless single veteran men and women, including those diagnosed with behavioral health issues. Location: Bronx, NY 10472



Minimum Qualifications:



  • A Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services field and five years' experience or a satisfactory combination of education and experience.



Vocational/Recreational Coordinator Principal Responsibilities:



  1. Completes intakes and assessment to determine vocational skill and job-readiness. And collaborate with Case Management staff to include vocational goals and objectives on service plan.
  2. Identifies appropriate educational, training, and work experience programs for residents and refer residents to appropriate services.
  3. Develops and supervises recreational activities for residents.
  4. Screen volunteers, coordinate volunteer activities, and prepare monthly volunteer report.
  5. Manages emergency food pantry and distributes food to clients on a regular basis.
