Established in 1865, The George Washington University Law School is the oldest law school in Washington, DC. The school is accredited by the American Bar Association and is a charter member of the Association of American Law Schools. The law school is located on the GW campus in the downtown neighborhood familiarly known as Foggy Bottom.
The Law School's JD Admissions Office is seeking an Admissions Coordinator that provides technical, operational, and administrative support for Law School admissions recruitment and enrollment management initiatives. This position assists in coordinating key administrative and recruitment functions, processing admissions applicant data, and serves as a first point of contact for JD prospective students and visitors. This role supports the efficient operation of the admissions office by managing recruitment events, coordinating communications, and performing daily administrative operations. This role also acts as a liaison for the University and Law School mailroom services, the Office of Facilities and Maintenance, and Xerox to address operational needs within the admissions office.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Operations
- Generate, compile, and distribute weekly statistical reports to support admissions tracking, recruitment planning, and enrollment management activities.
- Process admissions applicant documents within the admissions system (LSAC Unite) for a top three applicant-volume institution, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and procedural compliance.
- Maintain electronic records and supporting documentation to ensure data integrity and accessibility across admissions platforms.
- Manage and monitor two separate office email accounts, responding to inquiries and routing communications to appropriate staff to ensure timely and accurate responses.
Recruitment Program Coordination
- Coordinate logistics for recruitment initiatives, including managing an extensive fall recruitment calendar of over a hundred events, preparing promotional materials, and facilitating student ambassador participation (travel coordination and reimbursements).
- Represent the admissions office at local recruitment events, virtual information sessions, and admitted student events.
- Provide campus tours and information about the Juris Doctor program to prospective students in support of recruitment and enrollment efforts.
- Oversee the admissions waiting area to ensure a professional and welcoming environment, including maintaining informational materials, promotional items, and hospitality supplies.
Administrative Operations
- Manage appointment scheduling, screen and route incoming calls, coordinate group visit requests, and ensure effective communication with prospective students.
- Act as a liaison for the University and Law School mailrooms, the Office of Facilities and Maintenance, and Xerox, managing the distribution of incoming admissions mail correspondence, submitting and tracking maintenance requests.
- Oversee procurement and inventory of office supplies, stationery, business cards, and recruitment materials to support daily operations and recruitment activities.
- Prepare admissions packages for admitted students and visitor thank-you cards.
Operational Support (10%)
- Provide cross-functional administrative and operational support to the admissions team through special projects.
- Coordinate with campus-wide departments, including the Office of Facilities and Maintenance and Xerox, to address operational needs within the admissions office.

| Minimum Qualifications: |
Qualified candidates will hold a high school diploma/GED plus 1.5 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. |
