Description

Overview: Supervises Tissue Processing Lab Packaging personnel to ensure that allografts meet all specifications, and that the lab complies with quality and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:



  1. Scheduling of daily laboratory staff to ensure that the goals of the company are met.
  2. Supervise staff to ensure all tissue is processed within specifications and quality is maintained.
  3. Supervise staff to perform all tasks for efficient operation of the laboratory.
  4. Supervise and schedule and perform training of technicians to achieve proficiency.
  5. Evaluate performance of team leaders, trainers, and technicians through direct observation to ensure consistency and tissue quality.
  6. Recommend promotions of team leaders, trainers, and technicians.
  7. Implementation of new and revised documents and procedures.
  8. Work with trainers and team leaders to create and implement new procedures for improvement of current processes or addition of new ones.
  9. Assist in the recruiting, screening, interviewing, hiring, counseling and termination of TPL staff.
  10. Review tissue records, equipment monitoring records, autoclave log, cryopreservation cycles, and antibiotic intermediate documentation to assure lab compliance.
  11. Perform duties of Dissector/Packaging technician as needed.
  12. Laboratory is staffed adequately on a daily basis to ensure goals of the company are met.
  13. All tissue is processed within specifications.
  14. Completion of training requirements for technicians.
  15. Coordinate and run shift meetings.
  16. Perform duties of technicians as needed.
  17. Other responsibilities as assigned.
  18. Reduction of laboratory errors and improvement of tissue yields.


Qualifications:



  1. Bachelor's Degree in a Science or Engineering field and or 3 years of tissue processing/medical device/pharmaceutical/biotech manufacturing experience, or suitable combination of the above.
  2. 1 year of people leader experience desired. Experience in tissue processing/medical device/pharmaceutical/biotech manufacturing/engineering experience is a plus.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  4. Can give audience appropriate messaging
  5. Give regular feedback to employees and maintain standards through accountability
  6. Collaborates well with all supporting departments
  7. Capable of direct and indirect influence to meet set objectives
  8. Capable and comfortable with making timely decisions related to people and process
  9. Strong analytical skills to develop solutions to issues
  10. Contingency planning skills are a plus
