MedStar Washington Hospital Center | Washington, D.C.

MedStar Medical Group is seeking a Critical Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the CVICU team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. Practice at the largest hospital in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan region, caring for critically ill cardiovascular surgical patients while enjoying meaningful autonomy in a collaborative, well-supported multidisciplinary environment.

Position Highlights

  • Practice within a 54-bed (CVICU) across three dedicated areas
  • 13-hour day and night shifts with a proportionate blend of day and night coverage
  • Annual commitment of 130 hours
  • Collaborative team of 18 physicians and 38 APPs
  • Average daily census: 5-7 p/day and 10-12 p/night

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited PA or Acute Care NP program
  • NCCPA or AGACNP certification
  • Minimum of one year of Critical Care experience as NP or PA
  • Experience performing common critical care procedures is preferred
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification (or eligible to obtain prior to start)
