The FLOXAL Reliability Specialist is responsible for training others in the operating and maintaining equipment used in the process of generating industrial gasses at customer locations. Also responsible for coordination with Regional Management, of technicians and contractors to successfully maintain and operate all FLOXAL equipment. This is a national support position that requires travel to multiple facilities across the entire Airgas fleet of FLOXAL equipment. Fleet responsibility will be for all of the units in up to four Airgas operating Regions. At Airgas, we RESPECT, HONOR and VALUE diversity.   • Salary Range: 90k - 95k

  • Travel Requirements: Heavy Travel Role - Minimum 30% - 50% of the time.

Safety Audits & Fleet Monitoring

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety in all operations and activities.

  • Monitor the performance of the FLOXAL fleet, ensuring all units operate efficiently.

  • Report any cases of performance degradation to the Field Service Manager (FSM) for prompt action.

  • Leadership in Reliability Meetings

  • Take a leadership role in periodic Regional and Divisional reliability meetings.

  • Analyze operational details and follow up on action items to ensure accountability and progress.

  • Conduct periodic audits focused on safety compliance, preventive maintenance (PM), site conditions, and operational efficiency.

Training Responsibilities

  • Train personnel to maintain, troubleshoot, and perform preventative inspections on all FLOXAL equipment and systems according to manufacturer's instructions and governing regulations.

  • Provide training on maintenance and troubleshooting for compressors, dryers, valves, motors, and other equipment with the aim of reducing reliance on third-party contractors.

  • Educate team members on maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems per manufacturer's instructions and regulations.

  • Train on instrumentation systems and calibrations, ensuring adherence to manufacturer and local work instructions.

  • Provide training on quality control and quality assurance equipment, including process analyzers.

  • Instruct others on the installation, maintenance, adjustment, and repair of manual, electric, and electronic measuring, recording, and regulating instrumentation.

  • Certify Field Service Technicians (FSTs) on maintenance plans and technical procedures once they have completed training.

Technical Skills

  • Read and interpret technical drawings and manuals to guide maintenance and troubleshooting efforts.

  • Collaboration with Management

  • Collaborate with regional management teams to ensure that preventive maintenance programs are completed, aligning with the company's strategic quality and efficiency goals.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Valid driver's license

  • Five years' experience directly operating and maintaining industrial gas manufacturing equipment, technical school

  • Able to work closely with Project Managers, Subject Manager Experts and regional staff.

  • Have the ability to teach regional employees to maintain facility PID schematics and in maintaining equipment manuals.

  • Be familiar with all FLOXAL operation and maintenance standards.

  • Able to manage regional technicians and contractors that come on site to support the operations and maintenance of FLOXAL equipment.

  • Able to teach others to troubleshoot, repair, test and calibrate process analyzers and instruments.

  • Able to teach others to troubleshoot and repair low voltage motor controls up to and including 480 VAC

  • Previous experience in Air Separation Instrumentation is a plus

  • Mastering the understanding of the FLOXAL control systems

  • An understanding of FLOXAL processes-Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work for self and others

  • Knowledge of the use of a computerized maintenance management system

  • Knowledge of Google and Microsoft Office tools-Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work call-outs, nights, weekends & possibly holidays

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)

  • Basic knowledge of Google applications (Sheets, Slides, Docs, Gmail, etc.)

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations

  • Ability to communicate effectively with a broad array of people using both verbal & written tools to build upon and become part of a strong team environment

  • Ability to write routine business reports and business correspondence in English

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees and/or customers

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals using the English language

  • Requires the use of considerable judgment to recognize and interpret sophisticated instrumentation and make decisions accordingly. Requires the ability to use tools and equipment necessary for repairing and replacing mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment. Requires the ability to use computer programs to effectively analyze, document and track specific initiatives and goals set by management

  • Requires 100% compliance with Airgas safety policy and procedures, and cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) training and techniques to prevent lost time or serious injury to others
