| Primary Purpose of Department |
The mission of the Undergraduate Admissions Office is to meet the established University enrollment goals by recruiting undergraduate applicants. Our goal is to recruit applicants who can contribute to and benefit from the University in academic programs and activities; assist prospects and applicants in realizing their academic ambitions through counseling; accurately and efficiently review academic credentials and notify applicants of decisions; and provide the University community with data necessary for advising and enrollment planning.

We value our position as the first contact a prospective student or the general public may have with the University. Providing timely and accurate information and effectively monitoring the admissions process are critical to the successful recruitment of qualified students. Functionally, the office staff works closely with the faculty and support units on campus and with high school counselors, parents, and community college counselors off-campus. |
| Primary Purpose of Position |
This position is responsible for the recruitment, counseling, and evaluation of prospective transfer students. Serving as a primary representative for
UNC Charlotte, the employee facilitates the transition from varied educational backgrounds, including community colleges and four-year institutions, to the university by building strategic relationships with students, their families, and partner institution advisors. The role focuses on helping applicants determine institutional fit, navigate the complexities of credit articulation, and foster a sense of belonging within the university community through targeted outreach and specialized transition support.
The employee manages the full enrollment cycle, from initial recruitment and regional event participation to the final admissions decision. This includes providing expert guidance on academic programs, transfer policies, and university resources to ensure students are well-informed throughout their unique trajectory. Additionally, the employee exercises independent authority to conduct comprehensive application reviews and render admissions decisions for both transfer and freshman populations to build an academically prepared and robust incoming class. |
| Summary of Position Responsibilities |
- Provide expert-level counseling and advising to prospective transfer and first-year students regarding university admission requirements, institutional policies, and procedural frameworks across multiple communication platforms.
- Exercise independent authority and professional judgment to conduct comprehensive reviews and render final admissions decisions on transfer and first-year applications, ensuring adherence to established institutional criteria.
- Facilitate on- and off-campus recruitment initiatives, including formal information sessions and presentations, to effectively communicate the university's mission and academic value to diverse audiences.
- Cultivate and sustain strategic partnerships with community college advisors and secondary school counselors to streamline the transfer pipeline and enhance institutional visibility.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive transfer communication plan and outreach strategy designed to optimize the applicant-to-student conversion rate.
- Manage seasonal travel schedules during peak recruitment cycles (fall and spring) to represent the university at regional and national recruitment events.
Other Job Duties:
- Support specialized, high-priority recruitment activities and niche outreach efforts as identified by the management team.
- Assist in the logistical planning and on-site execution of large-scale admissions events.

| Minimum Education/Experience |
- Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience; or
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

- Program and project planning with experience giving presentations to large groups.
- Strong attention to detail while analyzing data, and the ability to make independent decisions.
- Ability to maintain a high level of customer service.
