The successful applicant is expected to work independently and maintain regular contact with County Stormwater personnel to schedule the regular pick up of samples and keep up with the sample analyses as samples are collected. Monthly data review with Dr. Allan or Dr. Hippensteel is also required. Reliable, dependable, driver's license, and ability to work independently. Spreadsheet skills are desirable.
Duties and Responsibilities
The position requires: 1) the production of sediment core logs for lakebed vibracores taken from coves along Lake Wylie and; 2) the processing and grain size analysis of total suspended material collected during high flow events in tributaries draining into Lake Wylie. The samples are collected by Charlotte/Mecklenburg Stormwater personnel and are to be picked up after collection.
