This position may be filled as an engineer I or one level higher as an engineer II depending on the experience level of the selected candidate. The Engineer I position is the entry level of the Engineering classification hierarchy. Employees in the Engineer I position solve problems in engineering areas of specialization with close supervision. An Engineer I is expected to develop skills, and the ability to work with greater independence. An Engineer I has knowledge of fundamental concepts and procedures. The Engineer II position is the intermediate level of the Engineering classification hierarchy. Employees in the Engineer II position solve complex problems in engineering areas of specialization with general supervision. An Engineer II is expected to develop advanced skills, and the ability to work with greater independence. An Engineer II effectively applies fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is fairly complex and varied. This position provides engineering support for transmission line design and will primarily support the Duke Energy - Carolinas West region. The role will involve working under the guidance of more experienced engineers to support design, analysis, and project execution activities. Applicants must be able to work effectively with individuals from diverse socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds and possess strong written and oral communication skills. Responsibilities
Basic/Required Responsibilities - Engineer I Graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program A Master's degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. Engineering degree. Basic/Required Responsibilities - Engineer II Must have obtained Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience A Master's degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. Mobility Classification - Hybrid Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period.
