Overview

The Yard Coordinator is responsible for, but not limited to, maintaining cleanliness and order of the shop/office
area, as well as performing maintenance around the office/shop and managing the inventory of Saiia small tools
and supplies.

Responsibilities

    Load and unload all inbound LTL trucks.
  • Assist truck drivers as a spotter when needed.
  • Escort vendors on-site for equipment and maintenance.
  • Maintain and track truck cleaning schedules.
  • Conduct and maintain inventory of all tools, supplies, chemicals, and materials in the shop and
    Office/Shop laydown yard.
  • Oversee the tool crib:
    • Keep a written record of tool assignments.
    • Ensure tools and storage areas remain clean and organized.
  • Replenish and restock supplies for the shop and tool room.
  • Assign and track radios and chargers, including weekly inspections.
  • Maintain inventory control by checking items in and out daily and notifying project management when
    restocking is required.
  • Keep water and ice stocked, including office and shop refrigerators.
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop, ensuring work areas, sink, tables, and back conference room are
    tidy.
  • Ensure guard booths are stocked with water and necessary supplies.
  • Keep outdoor areas, including the front parking lot, entry area, and picnic area, free of construction
    debris.
  • Organize and maintain outdoor Conex storage.
  • Perform preventive maintenance using hand tools, power tools, and precision equipment.
  • Inspect company equipment on the yard and report maintenance or cleanliness issues to management.
  • Assist mechanics as needed with repairs and maintenance.
  • Pick up and deliver parts, supplies, and signs as required.
  • Understand, apply, and adhere to all safety procedures


Qualifications

  • Must be friendly, energetic, punctual, self-motivated, and detail oriented.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must have the ability to work in a team environment and be a team player.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal correspondence.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills.
  • Must have excellent time management abilities.

  • Must possess a willingness to accept and follow the direction of others.
  • Knowledge and experience using computers, tablets and smartphones and different software applications such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Timekeeping software.
