Introduction

Housing and Community Development works to facilitate, inform, and advise the community on the development and implementation of strategies to address the unmet housing needs of all Loudoun County residents. The department also develops funding opportunities and provides grants and loans to help preserve, provide access to, and add to the supply of affordable housing. It provides programs to increase affordable housing opportunities for Loudoun's low- to moderate-income households, including homebuyers and renters, as well as nonprofits and affordable housing developers.

Job Summary

This position within the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) will be responsible for the following administrative duties related to the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program:

  • Enter/update application data in Excel spreadsheet.
  • Enter/update cases in software system.
  • Prepare and mail intake packets, recertification packets, and other program mailings.
  • Monitor the HCV email inbox, reply to basic programmatic questions, and distribute to other staff to respond as needed.
  • Upload paper documents to electronic files.
  • Follow up with participants and property owners to collect past due documentation.
  • Mail/email inspection notices.
  • Schedule new inspections with property owners and tenants.
  • Provide administrative review of program reports and documents for accuracy.
Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of related clerical/administrative work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Successful candidates will undergo background checks as required. Valid driver's license and good driving record when required for job-related duties.

The type of work will be light work, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 of force to move objects.

This position may be required to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends. May be required to travel to another local work location. May be required to work extended hours during a County emergency; may work in a different capacity or at a different location in the event of a natural or manmade disaster. The work is performed in a safe and secure work environment that may periodically have unpredicted requirements or demands.
