*Description*
SUMMARY: Collector 1 is responsible for servicing and collecting on auto loan accounts that impact delinquency, effectively documenting all collection activities using loan servicing software. Looking for auto finance collections experience or mortgage loan collections experience. RESPONSIBILITIES: *Handle inbound and outbound calls for delinquent auto loan accounts. *Negotiate payment arrangements with borrowers and offer practical solutions to help them meet their obligations. *Reduce delinquency for assigned accounts and overall portfolio. *Perform investigative activities to determine the whereabouts of customers through database searches and system records (Skip tracing). *Based on severity of risk, recommend repossession assignments to recover collateral. *Maintain satisfactory work efforts in multiple queues based on specified requirements. *Respond to internal and external customer requests regarding account status. *Comply with all company policies, procedures, and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). *Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers. *Meet or exceed defined department goals and metrics. *Be available to work overtime and Saturday's. *Skills* collections customer service, customer service, skiptrace, negotiation skills *Top Skills Details* collections customer service,customer service,skiptrace,negotiation skills *Additional Skills & Qualifications* *1-3 years of collections experience, preferably in the auto industry. *Proven track record of strong performance. *Familiarity with CRM systems and customer service practices. *Customer-focused mindset with the ability to adapt and respond to a variety of situations. *Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively. *Strong problem solving and persuasive skills. *Understand state and federal laws applicable to Loan Servicing, including: CFPB, FCRA, UDAAP, FDCPA, SCRA, and TCPA. *Excellent analytical, oral, and written communication, problem solving and negotiating skills required. *Fluency in Spanish preferred (not required) *High school diploma or equivalent *Experience Level* Intermediate Level *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Foothill Ranch, CA. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
