Department: MED-Ctr-Dissemination & Implem
Salary/Grade: NEX/9

Job Summary:

The applicant will work with Principal Investigator (PI) Dr. Kelli Scott, a core faculty member within the Center for Dissemination and Implementation Science (CDIS) within the Institute for Public Health and Medicine (IPHAM) at the Feinberg School of Medicine. The central vision of CDIS is to bridge the gap between public health/medical knowledge (what we know) and public health/medical practice (what we do). D&I science is essential to realize the full impact of public health and medical research. Traditional, passive dissemination strategies such as publishing clinical recommendations, trials, or guidelines are insufficient for realizing practice change. Innovative, proactive strategies for increasing the implementation and sustainability of evidence-based interventions in community and clinical settings are essential for improving population health and driving health care innovation. The applicant will work closely with Dr. Scott to support several NIH and SAMHSA-funded research projects focused on enhancing the implementation of evidence-based practices, such as measurement-based care, in community substance use treatment settings. The applicant will also support the PI in utilizing implementation science methods on collaborative projects with other Northwestern PIs and PIs at other national institutions focused on a wide array of conditions and populations. Project related tasks will include recruiting and consenting study participants, qualitative and quantitative data collection and management, development and maintenance of project standard operating procedures, attendance at lab and supervisory meetings with the lab PI and research team, supervised qualitative and quantitative data analysis, collaborative supervision of undergraduate interns with the PI, presentations for local and national academic conferences, and supporting the PI in the preparation and submission of academic publications. The applicant will be required to complete all activities by strictly following Good Clinical Practices (GCP) & all relevant current local, state, & federal laws, regulations, guidance, policy & procedure developed by the NU Institutional Review Board (IRB), Food & Drug Administration (FDA) Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), & the International Conference on Harmonization (ICH).
