Description
The Mortgage Sales & Operations Trainer supports Atlantic Union Bank's Home Loans Division by designing, delivering, and maintaining comprehensive training programs that elevate Loan Officer (LO) performance and operational excellence. This role exists to ensure consistent, highquality onboarding, ongoing skill development, performance improvement, and procedural alignment across both Sales and Operations teams. Position Accountabilities
- Lead new Loan Officer onboarding, including systems, processes, product education, and workflow training
- Deliver ongoing and refresher training to ensure adherence to current policies, procedures, and best practices
- Provide targeted coaching and training to underperforming LOs focused on file quality, borrower qualification, documentation standards, and pipeline management
- Develop and deliver training for mortgage operations staff to support consistency, quality, and compliance across teams
- Create and maintain procedures, job aids, workflow documentation, and process guides
- Support communication and rollout of policy and procedural updates
- Assist loan fulfillment teams during peak volume or staffing shortages, as appropriate
- Partner with Sales and Operations leadership to assess training needs and identify improvement opportunities
Organizational Relationship This position reports to: Consumer Lending COO Position Qualifications Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent mortgage industry experience considered
- Minimum 7 years of mortgage industry experience in Sales, Operations, or Training
- The ideal candidate will have a broad mortgage lending background
- Prior experience delivering training, coaching, or process documentation strongly preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of mortgage origination processes, borrower qualification fundamentals, and workflow requirements
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
- Ability to simplify complex processes into clear, actionable training content
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work crossfunctionally and support change management initiatives
- Ability to travel throughout the Atlantic Union Bank footprint may be periodically required
