Residential Helper / Garbage Truck Helper - $18/hr - Full Time - Fort Pierce, FL Pay: $18.00 per hour Schedule: Monday - Friday Hours: 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM Job Type: Full-Time Position Join the Waste Pro Team! Waste Pro is looking for hardworking, dependable individuals to join our team as Residential Helpers in Fort Pierce, Florida. This is a physically active, outdoor position that offers stable, full-time employment and the opportunity to be part of an essential service that keeps our communities clean and safe. What You'll Do - Summary As a Residential Helper, you will work alongside a Garbage Truck Driver to collect residential trash, recycling, and yard waste along assigned routes. Responsibilities - Essential job Functions:
- Collecting household garbage, recycling, and yard waste from residential customers
- Lifting and loading trash bags, containers, carts, and bulk items into collection vehicles
- Pushing residential carts to truck tippers for disposal
- Riding on and safely mounting/dismounting the rear step of the collection truck throughout the day
- Operating the truck's packing mechanism when directed
- Assisting the driver with backing maneuvers by providing ground guidance
- Cleaning around waste spills and ensuring containers are returned to their proper location
- Providing courteous and professional customer service to residents
- Reporting safety concerns, vehicle issues, or customer service concerns to supervisors
- Cleaning and washing the truck hopper and work area at the end of the shift
- Assisting other routes and crews as needed
- Working during emergency response situations when required
- Performing other duties as assigned
Other Job Responsibilities: Employees in this job classification must attend and participate in corporation sponsored training courses as assigned. Employees in this job classification are responsible for keeping up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by Waste Pro . Physical Requirements This position is physically demanding and requires: Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling Continuous walking and standing throughout the workday Repeated climbing on and off collection vehicles Ability to work in varying weather conditions including heat, rain, wind, and humidity Exposure to noise, dust, odors, vibration, and outdoor environmental conditions Work Environment: Works in a variety of environment conditions, including wide temperature and weather variations including heat, cold, snow, rain, wind; noise and vibrations, fumes, odors and dust.
