Job Title: QC Technician


Classification: Hourly


Reports To: Quality & Safety Manager


Department: Quality


Schedule: 6:00AM-6PM or 6PM-6AM (2-2-3 rotating schedule)



Summary of Job


Under the direction of the Quality & Safety Manager oversees packaging operations along with hourly and temporary employees to ensure the production of the highest quality products at the lowest possible cost, while meeting company standards for quality and performance. Adheres to customer specifications and delivery requirements, while working in accordance with Pregis policies and procedures.



Overview: The QA Inspector ensures constant quality monitoring during production. Responsible for maintaining continuous product quality during production and guiding workflow by monitoring packaging work force's quality inspections and packaging process. Performs quality inspections at regularly prescribed intervals and documents accordingly across multiple production lines. Helps employees in the department perform their duties correctly. Helps team operate at or above designated run speeds.



Essential Functions and Responsibilities




  • Perform and document hourly inspections and run profile, retain samples per EverTec Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor mailer production, including packaging, for defects and inaccuracies per EverTec quality standards; correct and report any non-conformities and initiate hold procedure when needed in collaboration with Team Lead and Shift Supervisor as needed.
  • Train Packers on EverTec Quality Assurance (QA) SOP; regularly conduct audits to ensure quality inspections are being performed.
  • Work with Packaging Team Lead and Operations to resolve issues per EverTec QA SOPs.
  • Communicate effectively with upcoming shift to ensure smooth handoff; keep open dialogue with staff to minimize delays.


  • Help to identify raw material defects, captures relevant information (lot codes, samples, etc.) and forward to Quality Manager.

Education and Experience



  • High school education or equivalent technical school preferred
  • 1 to 3 years' experience in a Manufacturing environment and/or inspection role preferred.
  • Knowledge of packaging production SOPs and Quality Standards a plus.
